Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the 10th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival (Xposure 2026) will commence tomorrow in Aljada, Sharjah.
This week-long festival, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), runs until February 4 and explores the realms of photography, filmmaking, and visual arts through a diverse array of exhibitions, workshops, talks, and engaging experiences. Xposure 2026 brings together 95 exhibitions showcasing 3,200 artworks and more than 570 visual events.
The grand opening will feature a keynote by Haris Doukas, the Mayor of Athens, as Greece is honored as the Guest of Honour. A special pavilion will display over 140 artworks by six Greek artists, celebrating the cultural evolution and heritage of Athens.
With the theme “A Decade of Visual Storytelling”, Xposure 2026 unites over 420 photographers, filmmakers, and artists from more than 60 nations. The program includes 126 talks, 72 workshops, and 280 portfolio reviews, as well as a global trade exhibition highlighting imaging and visual content technologies.
The festival will feature 12 thematic zones, covering areas such as People and Portraiture, Sports and Action, Oceans and Water Conservation, Documentary, Nature and Wildlife, and more.
Prominent photographers, including David Burnett and Morten Qvale, will grace the event, alongside fine art creatives such as Christoffer Relander and Hengki Koentjoro.
A special Conservation Summit on February 2, themed “Troubled Waters,” will spotlight environmental storytelling, where leading photographers and scientists will address marine ecosystem protection and climate change challenges.
The festival will also feature the Xposure Photography and Film Awards, boasting an unprecedented participation of 29,000 photo entries and 634 film submissions from around the globe.
