His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, presided over MGX's second board meeting in 2026, which centered on assessing new investments, financial status, and the expansion of MGX's global AI initiatives.

Robust Financial Growth and Investment Portfolio

The board evaluated MGX’s impressive financial outcomes and the ongoing development of its investment portfolio across the entire AI technology spectrum. The company emphasized its enhancing role in bolstering major global AI endeavors.

Key Investment in OpenAI

A focal point was MGX's role as co-lead in the latest US$122 billion funding round for OpenAI, marking its fifth consecutive investment in the company. This underscores MGX's solid long-term confidence in OpenAI's growth trajectory and influence on artificial intelligence's future.

Investment in AI-Driven Drug Research

The board also explored MGX's involvement in Isomorphic Labs' US$2.1 billion Series B funding round, which signifies MGX's inaugural investment in AI-powered drug development. Isomorphic Labs, supported by roots from Alphabet and DeepMind, aims to revolutionize drug creation using AI and foster significant medical advancements.

Expansion of AI Infrastructure

MGX reviewed rapid evolutions in its AI infrastructure portfolio, anticipating that the total capacity of its portfolio companies will surpass 8 gigawatts (8GWs) by the close of 2026. This positions MGX as a pivotal global facilitator for AI infrastructure.
