The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has initiated its seventh medical convoy on Pemba Island, Tanzania, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid. This initiative is focused on delivering essential healthcare services to communities that lack access to specialized medical care.

The convoy aims to perform approximately 250 surgical procedures across various specialties, including adult and pediatric urology, orthopedics, general surgery, and pediatric surgery. This program seeks to address critical healthcare needs and alleviate the strain on local healthcare facilities.

The mission, running until December 27, features a volunteer team composed of over 15 surgeons and five expert anesthesiology consultants from Saudi Arabia. These dedicated medical professionals are committed to providing top-notch surgical care to those who need it most.

Dr. Ayman Al-Sulaimani, the convoy's leader and a urology consultant at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah, emphasized that this mission is crucial for easing patient suffering and tackling serious health issues. He pointed out that such initiatives significantly improve access to timely surgical interventions for those who may otherwise go without.

Dr. Al-Sulaimani also commended Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian contributions in Africa, stating that missions like this play a vital role in reinforcing healthcare infrastructures and offering necessary support to communities facing medical hardships.
