Toyota Issues Recall for Over 55,000 U.S. Vehicles Due to Inverter Concerns

Toyota has revealed a recall affecting over 55,000 vehicles in the United States after discovering a potential issue in the inverter systems. The announcement was made on Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Regulators have indicated that a bolt within the inverter may not have been securely tightened during manufacturing. This flaw could result in inadequate contact at the inverter terminal, which is critical for the performance of hybrid and electric vehicles.

An unsecured inverter connection may impair vehicle performance and, in certain instances, elevate the risk of a malfunction while driving. Although no significant accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue, safety authorities emphasize the urgency of addressing it to prevent future complications.

The recall encompasses a total of 55,405 vehicles sold in the U.S. While Toyota has yet to release the complete list of affected models, owners of newer cars are encouraged to stay vigilant for official communications.

The NHTSA stated that Toyota is actively working on a solution to rectify the issue. Once available, vehicle owners will be notified and asked to visit authorized dealerships for necessary inspections and repairs, which will be conducted at no charge.
