The UAE Year of Community 2025 has wrapped up its inspiring mission, aimed at cultivating a harmonious, participatory, and dynamic society. Emphasizing the motto “Hand in Hand,” the year highlighted themes of unity, growth, and generosity throughout the nation.

Numerous national organizations, local creatives, and community members collaborated to fortify the social fabric of the UAE. These alliances resulted in impactful experiences, demonstrating the strength of collective action in nurturing a tighter-knit community.

Rauda Al Falasi, Project Lead for the Year of Community, remarked on the nation’s unique unity in diversity: “The UAE thrives on the contributions of all who reside here, unified by common values and aspirations. Across the nation, communities showcased active participation and a shared sense of accountability, propelling progress through partnerships.”

A standout initiative, “Who’s the ‘بــ’ in Your Life?”, prompted individuals to recognize those who inspire and support their communities. Personal narratives, including Ola Allouz’s tribute to her twin sister and Aysha Khalfan’s homage to Sheikh Zayed’s legacy, illustrated the profound connections among individuals in the UAE.

Additionally, the Year spotlighted exceptional individuals through collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Awards, acknowledging contributions such as Dr. Fatima Al Refaei for her work in nursing education, Abdul Muqeet Abdul Mannan for his sustainability projects, and HE Klaithem Obaid Al Matrooshi for promoting inclusivity for People of Determination.

Volunteering initiatives flourished, prominently including the “7 Volunteering Opportunities in 7 Emirates” campaign with Emirates Foundation, enhancing community engagement and celebrating volunteer champions throughout the country.

Innovative partnerships brought community values to life, with MAKE Abu Dhabi cultivating creative skills and Cinema Akil hosting outdoor film nights that brought families and storytellers together. The “We Archive” platform captured diverse neighborhood memories, safeguarding cultural heritage through visual storytelling.

In further celebration of community creativity, the Emirati Birthday Song project welcomed contributions from across the nation, merging music with cultural identity. Local designers and artists also created eco-friendly products inspired by Emirati traditions, deepening public relations with cultural roots.

Youth engagement was prioritized, as seen with the forthcoming “UAE Craft: Community Edition” game aimed at children aged 6 to 12. This interactive educational experience promotes teamwork and appreciation of the UAE’s rich natural and cultural landscapes via engaging challenges and storytelling.

Community participation extended both online and offline with the Community Impact Tracker, which recorded over 350 initiatives in education, culture, health, environment, and heritage, reflecting the nation’s dedication to social responsibility.

As the UAE Year of Community 2025 concludes, it leaves behind a lasting legacy of unity, shared growth, and generosity—laying a solid foundation for a vibrant, inclusive future for all.

The ongoing annual UAE Year of initiatives continues to foster national values by promoting active involvement and a sense of belonging, underscoring that community is a dynamic, evolving journey of collective care and dedication.
