In a small town near Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski, Quebec, a farmer faced a surprising challenge this weekend. François Morissette, a local dairy farmer, discovered that 24 young Holstein cows had escaped through a broken fence late Saturday night. They were spooked by fireworks, which frightened them into running off into nearby fields and woods.
Since then, François and his family, along with several helpful neighbors, have been working very hard to bring the herd back. So far, they have successfully rounded up 15 cows, but nine are still missing . These missing cows fled deeper into the woods and have been difficult to find.
To help locate the animals, one of the neighbors used a drone, which provided a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding land. The drone helped spot the cows from above, making it easier to guide them back toward the farm . The farmer said he’s not giving up and will keep looking for the missing cows.
