In a grand display of cultural pride, the National Museum of Oman has launched an exhibition and cultural events for Oman Day named “The Splendor of Silver: Collections from the Omani Court” at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Minsk, Belarus. This initiative underscores the burgeoning cultural ties between Oman and Belarus, aimed at enhancing friendship and collaboration between the nations. The exhibition will be accessible to the public until March 18, 2026.

The showcase spotlights Omani silver as a cornerstone of the nation's heritage, featuring exquisite artifacts formerly owned by Omani sultans in Muscat and Zanzibar. These precious items reveal the integral role silver has played, not only in royal households but also in the daily lives of Omanis, symbolizing elegance, protection, and the artistry meticulously passed through time.

The inauguration was honored by the presence of Her Highness Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, who emphasized the significance of cultural exchange and mutual appreciation between Oman and Belarus. She remarked that such events pave the way for intellectual and cultural collaboration, uniting people through their shared heritage.

This exhibition is organized into five main sections that delve into the Omani dagger, perfume traditions, silver craftsmanship, traditional garments, and elite fashion. Visitors will uncover the historic significance of the Omani dagger, admire rare perfume bottles from Amouage’s early days, and discover silver jewelry utilized for adornments, dowries, and financial stability.

A further section highlights traditional and elite attire, including traditions tied to Oman’s history in East Africa. These exhibitions enlighten visitors on Oman’s rich cultural identity and illustrate the profound links between art, history, and everyday life. This event bolsters cultural cooperation and enhances Oman’s heritage on a global platform through museum diplomacy and artistic exchanges.
