Carolyn Campbell will continue as President and CEO of a well-known Alberta college for another five years, starting June 15, 2025. This decision came after her successful first term, which brought many positive changes for students, staff, and the community.

In the past five years, the college has grown a lot. Student numbers reached record levels, and the college’s name became more known across Canada. Thanks to President Campbell’s leadership, the college was ranked 15th in the country’s top 50 research colleges.

She took on the role in 2020, right when schools were facing big challenges due to the pandemic. But under her leadership, the college managed not just to survive but to do better than ever. During this time, the college’s income went up by 54%.

Here are some major achievements during President Campbell’s time:

  • The college received big funding to build more classrooms and buildings. This will help train more workers needed in Alberta.
  • Over $18.5 million was received for new research projects.
  • The college made efforts to become more welcoming for all students. Four campus buildings got special certification for being accessible.
  • A new Engineering Transfer Certificate program was launched to help students move into university easily.
  • A new outdoor space called Miyonohk Park was opened for cultural events and community gatherings.

President Campbell said, “I feel lucky to work with such passionate students, teachers, and staff. I’m excited to continue this journey together.”

The college is now preparing to reach its 2030 goals, improve downtown Edmonton through new projects, and give more benefits to students and Alberta’s economy.
