Nidhhi Agerwal Mobbing: Police Question Mall and Event Organisers

Post by : Mina Carter

Authorities questioned mall management and event organisers after actor Nidhhi Agerwal faced a chaotic crowd surge during a song launch for her upcoming film The Raja Saab. The incident drew widespread attention after videos of the mobbing went viral on social media.

The questioning focused on the failure to secure prior permissions for the event and lapses in crowd management and security arrangements. Police registered a suo motu case after noticing the videos online. Sources close to the investigation revealed that the actor did not want to file a formal complaint, prompting authorities to take independent action.

Preliminary findings indicate that the situation escalated as Agerwal was leaving the venue. Fans swarmed her near the exit, and when she attempted to shake hands with one fan, the crowd surged forward. The actor was repeatedly jostled, and security personnel struggled to clear a safe path for her.

Officials have booked a case under Sections 223 (disobedience of an order by a public servant) and 292 (public nuisance) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the mall officials and an event organiser.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify individuals involved and to assess the effectiveness of the event’s security measures. The accused are expected to be called for further questioning as investigators determine whether additional lapses contributed to the incident.

This case has sparked discussions about safety protocols during celebrity events and the responsibilities of organisers to prevent crowd-related accidents.
