Miss India, Manika Vishwakarma, although not making it to the Top 12 at Miss Universe 2025, captured hearts with her poise, self-assurance, and captivating presence, especially noticeable during the swimsuit segment where she dazzled in a striking white outfit.
Following the finale in Nonthaburi, Thailand—where Mexico's Fatima Bosch claimed the Miss Universe 2025 title—Manika expressed her deep appreciation on Instagram. She reshared numerous encouraging messages from fans and fellow contestants, responding with warmth.
Receiving commendation from Miss World 2025 representative Nandini Gupta, who praised her for her radiant representation, Manika replied, “Thank you. You embody our pride. Rajasthan reigns supreme.” Nandini, also from Rajasthan, emphasized her pride in Manika, noting her brilliant display on stage.
Manika secured her place in the Top 30, lauded for her commanding stage presence and striking attire. Her gold sculptural national costume, paying homage to India’s Buddhist heritage, was among the most unforgettable in the costume competition. Her brilliant golden gown during the event also drew admiration.
The conclusion of Miss Universe 2025 saw Fatima Bosch crowned, with the Top 5 including Thailand’s Praveenar Singh, Stephany Abasali from Venezuela, Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines, and Olivia Yacé from Côte d’Ivoire.
This year’s pageant faced its share of controversy. Allegations surfaced against one of the organizers from Thailand, Nawat Itsaragrisil, who purportedly labeled Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch a “dumbhead,” prompting her and several participants to exit an event. Furthermore, judges Omar Harfouch and Claude Makélélé resigned, citing fairness issues, preselection of contestants, and potential conflicts of interest, casting doubt on the competition’s integrity.
