KSrelief Unveils Winter Aid for At-Risk Syrians

Post by : Mara Collins

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a new initiative named Kanaf, aimed at providing winter clothing assistance to vulnerable populations in Syria as temperatures drop. This project was initiated through a virtual agreement signed with a local civil society group, underscoring Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian commitments.

The initiative will benefit residents across various Syrian governorates, including Daraa, Rif Dimashq, Idlib, Aleppo, and Latakia, where many internally displaced families are struggling to cope with the harsh winter conditions. To help alleviate their hardships, the program will distribute 21,051 vouchers, enabling beneficiaries to purchase warm clothing from designated stores. This approach empowers families to select the winterwear they require most, such as jackets, sweaters, and outfits for children.

The Kanaf initiative aims to assist those most severely impacted by economic hardship and adverse weather. Many Syrian families are unable to afford critical winter necessities, especially in camps where heating and effective shelter are scarce. Through this project, KSrelief seeks to mitigate the effects of the winter season and enhance the living conditions of vulnerable populations.

This effort underscores Saudi Arabia’s enduring dedication to global humanitarian relief. By providing timely aid and actionable solutions, KSrelief reaffirms its commitment to supporting Syrian families in distress, helping them face their challenges with dignity.
