He claimed that a joke made on The Kapil Sharma Show some time ago had hurt the religious sentiments of the Nihang Sikhs, a spiritual warrior group in Sikhism known for their unique appearance and deep religious traditions.

According to Laddi, one of the characters in the show made fun of how Nihang Sikhs dress or behave, and this was seen as a mockery of Sikh traditions. He wrote,

"This mockery is an insult to Sikh spiritual traditions. No religion should be made fun of in the name of comedy."

Laddi also said that he and his team tried to contact Kapil Sharma’s manager, but when their calls and messages were ignored, they decided to act in this violent way.

The police in Surrey and Delta, two cities in British Columbia, quickly reached the scene after the attack. No arrests have been made yet, but investigations are ongoing. Authorities are checking CCTV footage and trying to gather more evidence.
