Google has launched an innovative AI assistant named CC, created to aid users in effortlessly managing their emails, calendar engagements, and documents. Operating discreetly in the background, CC delivers a daily overview titled “Your Day Ahead.” It compiles data from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and online content to display essential tasks, appointments, and files. The aim is to alleviate stress and help users concentrate on what matters most.
Powered by Google’s Gemini AI, CC interfaces directly with users’ Google accounts, analysing emails, checking calendar schedules, and reviewing documents to provide tailored recommendations. Each morning, a summary email is sent to users, highlighting key meetings, urgent messages, and relevant documents, thus assisting with planning and preparation.
While the assistant cannot autonomously dispatch emails or alter meetings, it assists in drafting replies and making minor adjustments. Users can communicate with CC through email queries for further help and advice. Its purpose is to support, rather than fully manage, email or calendar tasks.
As users engage with CC, its capabilities enhance. Increased usage leads to a better understanding of user priorities, delivering more pertinent recommendations. This functionality aids in managing daily tasks without inducing stress.
Currently, the CC assistant is exclusive to Google AI Ultra subscribers, with additional users invited to a waitlist for future access. Google intends to gradually expand availability as the tool improves.
