Foxconn Reports 17% Profit Growth Fueled by AI Servers

Post by : Bianca Hayes

Foxconn, based in Taiwan and the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, has announced a significant 17% increase in its profits for the third quarter, thanks to the escalating demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers. The company's net profit for the period from July to September reached T$57.67 billion ($1.89 billion), exceeding analysts' predictions of T$50.4 billion.

This earnings boost is attributed to the strong demand for AI infrastructure, with Foxconn being the main assembler for Nvidia's servers and Apple's leading iPhone manufacturer. Recently, the company reported revenues that surpassed expectations for the quarter, further showcasing the growing role of AI products in its offerings.

Looking to the future, Foxconn predicts that revenue will continue to rise in the fourth quarter, with sales of AI servers expected to increase compared to the previous quarter. The company has reiterated its full-year revenue growth targets from August, though specific numerical forecasts have not been disclosed.

Apple continues to be a vital partner, with the majority of iPhones assembled in China, and many sold in the U.S. now produced in India. Additionally, Foxconn is expanding its AI server production capabilities through new factories in Mexico and Texas, indicating a strategic move towards AI-centered manufacturing.

In addition to electronics, Foxconn is also venturing into the electric vehicle (EV) market. Despite some hurdles, such as selling its former car manufacturing plant in Lordstown, Ohio, for $375 million, the company views EVs as a key area for future growth.

This year, Foxconn's shares have appreciated by 36%, outperforming the Taiwan index, which saw a 21% rise. The stock rose 1.8% ahead of the earnings announcement, reflecting positive market sentiment surrounding AI-driven growth and strategic initiatives.
