Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the highly anticipated second edition of the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup (Telwah) is set to commence on January 12 at the Lahbab Track within the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center in Dubai.
This championship promises a thrilling experience with a 400-metre race distance, following the resounding success of last year’s inaugural edition, which showcased remarkable participation, cutting-edge standards, and exemplary performances from skilled falconers.
Initiated to honor the unwavering support for falconry racing from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, the event seeks to spotlight premier falconers while providing a competitive arena with generous prizes.
The Public Category (Owners – Open) competitions will kick off on January 12, followed by the Sheikh Category races on January 17, covering six rounds.
Falcons competing in the Farkh category, including Jeer Shaheen, Jeer Tibah, Pure Jeer, and Qarmousha, that achieve top three finishes in the Symbol and Golden Burqa rounds, as well as first-place victors in the Cash rounds of the Fazza Championship for Falconry – Telwah, will secure a place in the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup.
With a total prize pool of AED 2.8 million, the top three Farkh category falcons from the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup will also qualify for the final rounds of the Mohammed bin Rashid Falcons Cup.
His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary General of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing and the UAE Falcons Federation, remarked that the championship has swiftly earned a prestigious status entrenched in the UAE’s rich traditions and culture. He highlighted the considerable attendance and involvement from the UAE leadership during the inaugural event, reflecting their strong ties to falconers and steadfast backing for falconry as a vital national sport.
Bin Markhan further stated that all championship rules, updates, and conditions have been made available through the official social media channels of the UAE Falcons Federation, ensuring clarity and prompt information for participants and stakeholders.
