In a dazzling finale held in Thailand, Fatima Bosch from Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2025. The 25-year-old captivated audiences this year, particularly following a viral moment where she maintained her composure despite being reprimanded live by a Thai pageant director, which garnered her global admiration.

Bosch was presented with the title by last year’s winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh claimed the first runner-up position, while Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali followed her. The Top 5 was rounded out by Ahtisa Manalo from the Philippines and Ivory Coast's Olivia Yacé.

Originally from Santiago de Teapa in Tabasco, Mexico, Bosch makes history as the first woman from her home state to hold the Miss Universe crown. She studied fashion design at Universidad Iberoamericana and furthered her studies at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and Lyndon Institute in Vermont. Bosch's pageant career began in 2018 when she was crowned Flor de Oro in Tabasco. She has also courageously discussed her experiences with ADHD and dyslexia, offering inspiration to many young people.

Prior to the finals, Bosch faced controversy when she was scolded during a live-streamed meeting by Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil, who alleged she wasn’t posting sufficient promotional content. Although he later distanced himself from the harshness of his words, several contestants walked out in an act of solidarity with Bosch, which increased her global support and positioned her as a favorite.

This year’s competition saw participation from 120 contestants worldwide. A noteworthy contestant was Nadeen Ayoub, who made history by being the first woman to represent the Palestinian people, reaching the Top 30 before elimination. Hosted by American comedian Steve Byrne, the event featured opening performances by Thai singer Jeff Satur, with contestants vying in swimwear, evening gown, and interview segments, progressively culminating in the Top 5.

During the final Q&A round, contestants addressed global issues and envisioned how they would empower young girls if crowned. Bosch stood out with her impactful message: “Believe in the power of your authenticity. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth.” Her heartfelt response and poise ultimately secured her the title, winning the hearts of many around the globe.
