This significant event underscores Dubai's ascent as a pivotal hub for digital innovation and skilled technology talent, emphasizing the emirate’s unwavering dedication to fostering future-ready digital skills.
The announcement was made during a press briefing at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers, with notable attendees including Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Dr. William B. Poucher, President and CEO of the ICPC Foundation.
Dubai Chamber: Proud Host of a Global Coding Contest
The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, part of Dubai Chambers, will officially host the 50th ICPC World Finals. Renowned as the world's largest programming competition, ICPC draws participation from 63,000 students guided by 12,000 coaches, representing 3,350 universities in 93 countries annually.
After numerous regional contests and eight ICPC Regional Championships, over 130 top university teams will qualify to compete in the 2026 ICPC World Championship in Dubai.
Leading global tech sponsors such as Huawei, JetBrains, Google, OpenAI, Jane Street, Jump Trading, Citadel, Revolut, and Albers Blanc support the competition.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated that hosting the ICPC World Finals reflects Dubai's ambition to cultivate a future-ready digital ecosystem driven by innovation and skilled talent.
He added that the event represents a commitment to investing in the knowledge economy, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and fortifying Dubai's status as a leading digital economy on the global stage.
Elite Five-Day Competition
The ICPC World Finals will serve as the pinnacle of the international season, gathering elite student teams for five days of challenges culminating in a high-pressure five-hour coding contest.
Each team, composed of three members, will tackle complex algorithmic problems that assess their technical intelligence, collaboration, speed, and inventiveness.
Global Talent Development
Since its inception in 1970, the ICPC has evolved into one of the most significant talent pipelines for the tech sector, with over 500,000 alumni now holding key positions in prominent global tech firms and research institutions.
Dr. William B. Poucher referred to the 50th edition as a "Golden Anniversary," gathering the next generation of crucial talent to shape the digital economy's future.
