Kicking off tomorrow, Dubai is set to welcome the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
This summit, known as the largest global event focused on the content creator economy, will unfold over three days organized by the UAE Government Media Office at Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. The theme this year is “Content for Good.”
Anticipated to attract over 30,000 participants, this event will have around 15,000 international and Arab content creators and influencers. More than 500 speakers, representing a collective audience of 3.5 billion followers, alongside 150 CEOs and global experts, will contribute to the discussions.
With an extensive agenda involving over 580 sessions—including keynote addresses, workshops, roundtables, fireside chats, and debates—participants will delve into the future of digital media, investment, innovation, and ethical content generation across three primary tracks: Economy, Content, and Technology.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized how the summit showcases the UAE’s rising position as a pivotal player in the global media landscape. He highlighted the event’s potential to redefine the impact of digital media on communities through meaningful content creation.
Key Focus Areas of the Summit
This year, the summit will concentrate on two significant themes:
1. Content for Good:
In collaboration with MrBeast, the most-followed YouTuber globally, the summit is unveiling the “1 Billion Acts of Kindness” initiative, backed by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Varkey Foundation.
Ten global creators will be selected during the summit to champion this project alongside MrBeast.
In addition, the summit paired with TikTok to introduce the first-ever Educators Award, celebrating educational and edutainment content. Partnerships have also been announced with YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X, and Meta to enhance impactful content initiatives.
2. AI in Content Creation:
Teaming up with Google Gemini, the summit launched the AI Film Award, presenting a $1 million prize. Over 30,000 entries from 116 countries were received, with five films shortlisted to be showcased during the event. The winner will be announced on the second day.
Supporting New Talent and Startups
Day 3 will witness the announcement of winners for the Creators Ventures Accelerator, organized by Creators HQ in collaboration with 500 Global. This initiative aids content creators and innovative startups, providing support and investments amounting to AED 50 million.
The accelerator garnered 1,131 applications from over 70 countries.
Global Platforms and Notable Speakers
Summit discussions will include major global platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, X, Disney+, and Twitch, addressing topics like AI tools, analytics, intellectual property rights, misinformation, and community building.
