Novak Djokovic dominated his semi-final match in Athens, defeating Germany's Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-4 on Friday. This victory puts him in a title match against Italy's Lorenzo Musetti, who edged past Sebastian Korda with a score of 6-0, 5-7, 7-5.

At 38 years old, Djokovic needed only 79 minutes to dispatch Hanfmann, ending a run of four successive semi-final losses at major events—namely Roland Garros, Wimbledon, the US Open, and Shanghai. His last win in a semi-final dates back to May at the Geneva tournament, where he celebrated his 100th career singles title, trailing only Roger Federer (103) and Jimmy Connors (109).

“This was my best performance of the tournament,” Djokovic remarked afterward. “With Hanfmann's powerful serve and game, I had to maintain my concentration.”

Djokovic broke serve at 3-2 to clinch the first set 6-3 and, despite an early setback in the second, sealed the match 6-4.

The Athens tournament has taken the place of the brief Belgrade Open in this year's ATP schedule, and Djokovic received an enthusiastic welcome from local supporters.
“Thank you all for filling this wonderful stadium once again,” he expressed. “I've played in many stunning indoor venues, but this one is undoubtedly among the top three.”

Looking ahead, Musetti will be striving for victory, knowing that a win will secure him a spot at the ATP Finals in Turin.
