Link Established Between Kapil Sharma Cafe Attackers and Bishnoi Gang

In a significant development, the Delhi Police have successfully identified the assailants responsible for a series of attacks on actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe located in Canada. The shooters, identified as Sharry, also termed as Gurjot, and Daljot Rehal, are believed to have associations with the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The inquiry accelerated following the interrogation of Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, who was detained by Delhi Police last month concerning the incidents at Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada. Singh is accused of facilitating weapons and logistical assistance to Sharry and Daljot, who allegedly executed multiple strikes since the cafe's inauguration in July 2025.

Kap’s Cafe, inaugurated in British Columbia by Kapil Sharma in July, has faced targeted attacks occurring on July 10, August 7, and October 16. Law enforcement sources suggest that Singh provided arms and a vehicle to Goldy Dhillon, a close associate of the Bishnoi gang, under directives from gangster Sonu Khatri, known as Rajesh. Khatri’s relatives, Sharry and Daljot, are said to have carried out the shootings on orders from another suspected gangster referred to as Seepu.

Delhi Police has also disclosed a cross-border link. Bandhu Maan Singh allegedly maintains connections with Pakistani gangster Harry Chatha, who is implicated in the arms smuggling operations into India. Reports indicate that Chatha operates under the auspices of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), while Singh is believed to have facilitated the illicit transfer of weapon shipments from Pakistan into India. Singh reportedly returned to India from Canada on August 23 and was later detained in Ludhiana in late November.

The identification of the assailants and their ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have escalated the investigation. Central agencies are presently in collaboration with Canadian law enforcement to track down and apprehend those involved. The persistent assaults on Kap’s Cafe have instigated fear among guests and employees, raising alarming questions regarding international criminal syndicates focusing on high-profile venues.

In the initial attack on July 10, a barrage of ten shots was fired at the cafe, posing a threat to the staff inside. The following incident on August 28 witnessed over 25 shots being fired, accompanied by menacing warnings of further repercussions in Mumbai if demands were not fulfilled. In response to the second attack, security measures for Kapil Sharma were significantly elevated. The third assault on October 16 displayed a suspect firing a minimum of twelve shots from a passing vehicle, underscoring the ongoing danger and audacity of the offenders.

The continuous investigation highlights the expanding influence of organized crime across borders, linking domestic gangs in India with global networks and smuggling activities. Authorities are actively pursuing justice for the shooters and orchestrators while striving to maintain the safety of prominent public venues.
