On the afternoon of June 29, 2025, in Bradford West Gwillimbury, South Simcoe Police received reports of a vehicle being driven dangerously along Line 13—including wrong-side driving, speeding, and improper use of signals. Responding officers stopped the car and discovered a 51‑year‑old woman from Bolton, who was allegedly impaired by alcohol, with her two young children in the backseat.
The woman now faces multiple charges:
Impaired driving (operating while drunk)
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Failing to provide the necessities of life to a child (two counts)
Failure or refusal to comply with a police demand
She was released with a court date set for July 2025.The two children were unharmed and have been reunited with a responsible family member.
Driving under the influence with children in the vehicle is extremely dangerous. Impaired driving greatly reduces reaction time and awareness.
Driving recklessly—speeding, improper passing, and wrong-side manoeuvres—poses serious risks to pedestrians, other vehicles, and the occupants, especially minors.
Police praised the concerned citizen who reported the behaviour, helping prevent a potential tragedy.
Never drive after drinking; always arrange a safe ride.
Use seat belts and proper child restraints for all passengers.
Report suspected impaired or dangerous driving—your tip could save lives.
Stay alert to sudden or reckless driving—if it’s unsafe, call local police.
