Malaysia Airlines Directed to Compensate MH370 Victims' Families with Rs 4 Crore

A court in Beijing has mandated Malaysia Airlines to compensate the families of eight individuals who were on board the ill-fated flight MH370, which vanished in 2014. Each family will receive 2.9 million yuan, roughly equivalent to Rs 4 crore, intended to cover the loss of their loved one, funeral costs, and the pain of emotional distress.

Flight MH370, which had 239 people on board, disappeared while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing over a decade ago. Despite comprehensive search efforts, the aircraft and its passengers remain untraced. The majority of the passengers were Chinese, whose families have been longing for clarity and justice.

The court revealed that there are still 23 pending cases related to MH370, while 47 families have successfully reached agreements with Malaysia Airlines and ended their legal actions.

This ruling arrives as the Malaysian government confirmed it will restart the search operations for the missing plane on December 30. These renewed efforts are intended to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the aircraft's disappearance and offer long-sought closure to those affected.
