The American University of Sharjah (AUS) served as a focal point for groundbreaking research in artificial intelligence by hosting the 12th International Conference on Dependable Systems and Their Applications (DSA 2025). This three-day event, which wrapped up on Wednesday, featured around 60 researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from both the UAE and international spheres, all dedicated to advancing the reliability of forthcoming intelligent technologies.
The conference was driven by a pressing global issue: ensuring that the increasingly intricate AI systems can be trusted to operate safely and reliably. Campus sessions encompassed a variety of themes, such as adaptive intelligence, reliability in autonomous and predictive systems, and AI-based detection and optimization. Presenters shared innovations in multimodal large language model robotics, evaluation frameworks for autonomous driving, and advanced optimization techniques for cloud infrastructures supporting diverse hardware.
Online parallel sessions enriched the discussions, covering topics like software testing, defect analysis, cloud-edge reliability, LLM-driven intelligent applications, autonomous vehicle software, and human-AI interaction, all maintaining a consistent focus on enhancing the performance, predictability, and real-world reliability of systems that increasingly influence our daily lives.
The findings from DSA 2025 will be published by IEEE Conference Publishing Services and are set for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, along with prominent indexing platforms like Ei Compendex and Scopus.
