Round 3 of the 3rd Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (No-Gi) is on the horizon, taking place on 11-12 April 2026 at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah. This event, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, showcases elite clubs and academies from the UAE as they strive for better placements in the championship series.
Day one will see Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 categories in action, while day two will feature Under-18, Adults, and Masters divisions, adhering to a multi-age group structure.
Differing from the classic Gi format, No-Gi competitions are characterized by their rapid tempo and demand for sharp reflexes, creating a unique challenge as competitors advance through tougher matches.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, commented on the event's evolution, stating, “We experienced strong participation and intense rivalries in prior rounds. Round 3 aims to emphasize adaptability and quick-thinking in No-Gi matches, where every move counts. It’s uplifting to see families rallying behind the athletes, fostering a vibrant atmosphere during the event.”
In the inaugural round of this championship dedicated to No-Gi competitions, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club topped the leaderboard, trailed by Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in second and Palms Sports Academy - Team 777 in third, showcasing the fierce competition among UAE's leading Jiu-Jitsu teams.
This championship serves as a vital platform for both young talent and seasoned athletes to reveal their skills, accumulate experience, and enhance the overall standard of Jiu-Jitsu throughout the UAE.
