Zayn Malik Returns to One Direction as Company Director After a Decade

In a surprising twist, Zayn Malik has made headlines by rejoining One Direction nearly ten years after his departure from the band. Recent filings reveal that the “Pillowtalk” artist has been appointed as a director of One Direction's company, PPM Music Limited, indicating a renewed connection with his old bandmates following the tragic loss of Liam Payne.

Documents filed on November 3, 2025, show that Zayn Malik is now registered as an Active Director of PPM Music Limited. Additionally, he is recognized as a Person with Significant Control (PSC), which allows him to wield considerable influence within the organization.

This change marks a significant shift from Zayn’s earlier tenure, which ended on June 20, 2016, shortly after he made headlines by leaving the group in 2015.

Currently, Zayn joins fellow One Direction members – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan – as co-directors. The filings reveal that all members share the same registered address at Lee and Thompson LLP, a distinguished law firm in London that has also overseen Liam Payne’s solo career.

A close source remarked, “This is a pivotal moment. Though heartbreaking, Liam's passing has brought them back together. It’s especially sad that he was the biggest advocate for a reunion.”

The insider added, “PPM was the original entity they created during their time on The X Factor. The name represents Princess Park Manor, the exclusive gated community they were moved to after winning the show. Since Liam’s passing, the guys have been in touch.”

These comments seem to allude to the tragic loss of Liam Payne, who died last October at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. Following his death, the surviving members – Zayn, Harry, Louis, and Niall – gathered to pay their respects, making a rare public appearance together.

While this announcement does not confirm a musical reunion, Zayn Malik’s return as a director of PPM Music Limited represents a meaningful step towards reestablishing his bond with One Direction. Fans around the globe are eagerly speculating whether this might pave the way for new projects or even a full comeback.
