The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued warnings about an upcoming period of unsettled weather in the UAE, featuring rainfall, strong winds, and challenging sea conditions expected across the region until the weekend.
Sectors like logistics, construction, marine, and outdoor activities should prepare for potential disruptions as visibility decreases and sea conditions deteriorate. Today, moderate to fresh winds are anticipated, stirring up dust and sand, while sea conditions will shift from moderate to rough in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
On Thursday, December 18, expect a further decline in weather stability, with scattered rainfall, possible thunderstorms, lightning, and even hail in select regions. Winds may change from southeasterly to northwesterly, hitting speeds of up to 60 km/h, producing rough to very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf.
The instability will carry into Friday, December 19, with a difficult climate that may include isolated rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail, with wind gusts reaching 65 km/h along with rough sea conditions affecting marine transport.
By Saturday, December 20, conditions are likely to improve slightly, though partly cloudy skies and convective clouds may still produce rain in the northern and eastern areas, with remaining moderate to fresh winds and rough seas in the Arabian Gulf.
Weather conditions are predicted to enhance further by Sunday, December 21. Expect partly cloudy skies, light rainfall in island and coastal areas, with rising humidity in some of the internal western regions at night. This will lead to improved sea conditions, making marine activities safer.
