UAE Celebrates 54th Eid Al Etihad with Achievements in Space and Society

Under visionary guidance, the United Arab Emirates celebrated the 54th Eid Al Etihad, embodying a year rich in significant progress and global acknowledgement. 2025, named the Year of Community, featured the country enhancing its role as a leading force both regionally and internationally, while making strides in social, technological, and humanitarian achievements.

Remarkable Achievements in Space

In 2025, the UAE’s aspirations in space reached new heights. The nation successfully launched six satellites, including Thuraya 4, MBZ-SAT, AlainSat-1, HCT-SAT 1, the second phase of the Foresight constellation, and Etihad-SAT. The Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA) entered its final design phase, showcasing the country’s dedication to interplanetary exploration.

In collaboration with ICEYE, Space 42 deployed three Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites—Foresight-3, Foresight-4, and Foresight-5—into low Earth orbit. Concurrently, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre finalized the Rashid 2 rover, an integral part of the Emirates Lunar Mission, positioning the UAE at the forefront of regional space development.

Championing Women and Community Initiatives

The year 2025 marked a significant victory for Emirati women, with the UAE leading the region and securing a remarkable 13th place worldwide in the UNDP’s Gender Inequality Index. Three Emirati women were also chosen for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders Council 2025, reinforcing the nation's commitment to nurturing talent.

Launching the Mother of the Nation's 50:50 Vision, key initiatives were unveiled, focusing on family, governance, and international collaborations, emphasizing the UAE’s pledge to inclusive growth and social welfare.

Advancements in Housing and Urban Development

The UAE reinforced family stability with robust housing initiatives. The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme granted 2,971 housing approvals valued at AED2.07 billion, which included new financial support for the elderly.

Abu Dhabi revealed plans for 13 new residential communities, promising over 40,000 homes and plots for Emirati citizens with a total investment of AED106 billion. Additionally, Dubai announced projects worth AED5.4 billion and over 1,100 residential units valued at AED2 billion, while Sharjah allocated 3,500 plots for residential and investment purposes, ensuring broad access to housing.

Global Influence and Humanitarian Initiatives

On the international stage, the UAE strengthened its position as a vital economic center and humanitarian influencer. The nation’s growing impact is evident through strategic alliances and global initiatives, reflecting a hopeful vision for sustainable growth and diplomacy.

The 54th Eid Al Etihad not only commemorated national unity but also showcased the UAE’s milestones in space exploration, social empowerment, housing, and global leadership, laying the groundwork for a promising future characterized by innovation, stability, and progress.
