UAE Publishers Shine at 2026 Bologna Book Fair

The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) proudly participates in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026, which runs from April 13 to 16 in Bologna, reaffirming its dedication to elevating Emirati publishing on an international scale.

This participation underscores EPA’s strategic vision to foster global collaborations, advocate for high-quality Arabic children’s literature, and establish the UAE as a significant contributor to the international publishing landscape.

Known as the world's premier platform focused on children’s and young adult publishing, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair attracts leading publishers, authors, illustrators, translators, and industry experts worldwide. It serves as a crucial venue for rights discussions, collaboration opportunities, and insights into the latest trends.

During the event, EPA showcases a handpicked array of notable Emirati publishing houses. Alamkoum Publishing & Distribution is featured for its innovative educational materials that merge storytelling with engaging activities. Mimo Quirks is highlighted for its creative visual narratives and artistic flair. Ghaf Publishing also joins, dedicated to fostering a reading culture through enriching publications grounded in local narratives.

Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of EPA, explained that the association’s involvement stems from a broad objective to further the UAE’s publishing sector and showcase the diversity and richness of local content to a global audience.

He pointed out that the fair offers a vital chance to form alliances with prominent international publishers and institutions focused on children’s literature, supporting cultural exchange and the advancement of competitive Arabic content.

Additionally, Al Kous remarked that the event provides crucial insights for the future of children’s publishing, guiding Emirati publishers towards innovative and sustainable practices that resonate with future generations of readers.

Through its involvement, the Emirates Publishers Association aims to fortify the publishing sector, broaden the reach of Arabic literature, and bolster the UAE’s status as a pivotal regional and global publishing center.
