Belgrade, September 20, 2025 – President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on Friday for an official working visit. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations between the UAE and Serbia.

Upon arrival at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia personally welcomed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the delegation. The warm reception reflects the strong and friendly ties shared by the two nations.

Accompanying the UAE President was a high-level delegation including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who also serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. Other senior officials and ministers included His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, and several ministers and senior government officials.

The purpose of the visit is to further strengthen collaboration in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, technology, and education. Both nations have in recent years actively explored ways to increase business opportunities and cultural exchange programs.

This working visit comes at a time when Serbia is seeking to expand partnerships with nations in the Middle East, while the UAE continues to broaden its international relationships beyond its traditional allies. Observers note that such high-level visits often pave the way for agreements on trade, infrastructure projects, and joint initiatives in areas like renewable energy and innovation.

During the visit, it is expected that the UAE and Serbia will discuss bilateral cooperation in areas such as tourism, aviation, energy, and defence. Strengthening economic and strategic ties between the two countries may also encourage private sector partnerships and investments that benefit both nations.

The UAE President’s visit is being closely watched by diplomats and business leaders alike. Such engagements not only reinforce political friendship but also open doors for long-term development projects, cultural exchange, and shared economic growth.

This official working visit underscores the UAE’s commitment to maintaining strong international relationships and Serbia’s ambition to enhance its global connections. Leaders on both sides expressed optimism that this visit will mark a new chapter in UAE-Serbia relations, fostering closer cooperation and mutual understanding for years to come.
