Kicking off this Saturday, the UAE National MMA Championship 5 will take place at the indoor hall of UAE University in Al Ain. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has confirmed all preparations are finalized for this two-day event. Central to the country's sports landscape, this championship attracts both youthful and adult competitors from various clubs.

Approximately 300 competitors from numerous academies and clubs throughout the UAE have signed up. This robust turnout illustrates a growing enthusiasm for mixed martial arts among younger participants. Organizers anticipate fierce competition, as many skilled fighters seek to prove their mettle.

The championship will feature different age divisions, commencing with Youth D for athletes aged 10–11, followed by Youth C for ages 12–13, Youth B for ages 14–15, and Youth A for ages 16–17. The event will conclude with the adult division for participants aged 18 and over. This structure ensures that competitors can face peers within their age brackets, advancing their skills progressively.

Obaid Al Ketbi, a participant from ADMA Academy competing in the Youth A division, expressed his enthusiasm for the event. He shared that it serves as a valuable opportunity to assess his growth throughout the season. Al Ketbi remarked that engaging with athletes who have diverse styles enhances both his technical and physical abilities while providing invaluable experience.
