Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, recently introduced a significant humanitarian project aimed at addressing global hunger and child malnutrition.
During an announcement on Friday, he shared plans for the largest date processing factory in the world, which will focus on creating nutrient-dense food specifically for children in need. This initiative is being launched in collaboration with several partners under his broader humanitarian vision.
As stated by Sheikh Mohammed, the facility aims to produce an impressive 150 million date-based fortified food units annually, tailored to combat malnutrition in children and improve their health through enhanced nutritional access.
He underscored the importance of this initiative by reminding audiences of the UAE’s abundant palm trees, emphasizing that dates have long been a staple food. This natural commodity is now being leveraged to create a valuable nutritional product to alleviate hunger on a global scale.
This endeavor highlights the UAE's unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and innovative solutions aimed at resolving global food insecurity.
