The United Arab Emirates and Yemen took an important step on Friday to deepen their cooperation in the legal and judicial fields. The meeting, held in Abu Dhabi, brought together the top legal officials from both countries.

The UAE was represented by Attorney-General Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, while Yemen was represented by its Attorney General, Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali. The discussions were focused on how both nations can work together more closely in matters of law, justice, and public prosecution.

Building Stronger Legal Ties

Dr. Al Shamsi warmly welcomed Judge Ali and his delegation, stressing that such meetings are important for strengthening ties between the two countries. He explained that closer cooperation between the public prosecution offices of the UAE and Yemen would not only improve legal systems but also build trust and support in their broader relationship.

Both sides reviewed the structure of their judicial systems, comparing how each country manages its courts and public prosecutions. They highlighted the value of learning from one another’s experiences and sharing knowledge to improve efficiency and fairness in delivering justice.

Focus on Public Prosecution

One of the main points of discussion was the role of public prosecution. The officials explored ways to modernize this work and improve coordination between their offices. Public prosecution plays a vital role in protecting rights, upholding justice, and making sure that laws are followed fairly.

By learning from each other, both nations believe they can make their systems faster, stronger, and more effective in handling cases.

Looking Ahead

The meeting was not just about current cooperation but also about planning for the future. Both officials agreed to look at new opportunities to expand their partnership and improve the efficiency of their judicial systems. This could include training programs, sharing technical expertise, and exploring reforms that would bring long-term benefits.

The discussions highlighted a shared vision: justice systems that are transparent, reliable, and supportive of citizens’ rights. For Yemen, which continues to face challenges due to conflict, building stronger ties with the UAE can help bring stability and support reforms. For the UAE, the partnership reflects its wider role in supporting regional cooperation and development.

A Step Toward Stronger Relations

Legal and judicial cooperation is one part of the wider relationship between the UAE and Yemen. By working together in this field, both nations are showing their commitment to building stability, trust, and peace. The meeting in Abu Dhabi serves as a reminder that partnerships in law and justice are key to creating stronger societies.

As the two attorney generals concluded their talks, they expressed confidence that this cooperation will grow in the years ahead, bringing benefits to both nations and their people.
