Tadweer Group has initiated significant upgrades to its innovative waste collection system, Tajmee’e, extending its reach to northern and northeastern regions of Abu Dhabi. This development represents a crucial enhancement in the emirate’s environmental framework.
The upgraded service now encompasses vital areas, including Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Yas Island, Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Samha, Ghantoot, and the zone around Abu Dhabi Airport.
Tajmee’e is engineered as a comprehensive waste collection mechanism. It leverages AI-driven routing, real-time surveillance via a centralized command center, and in-vehicle safety apparatus that monitors driver attentiveness. Additionally, the system gathers analytics to modify collection routes according to actual needs, thereby enhancing service effectiveness as operations progress.
Etienne Petit, CEO of Tadweer Group, emphasized that robust waste collection acts as the cornerstone of a successful circular economy. He noted that bolstering collection efficiency and quality at the community level is essential for minimizing landfill waste. This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s ambition to divert 80% of waste from landfills by 2031.
Newly unveiled services cover residential, commercial, and bulky waste collection. More than 100 vehicles are in operation, supported by over 270 trained personnel. The team has undertaken 1,509 hours of technical training and 1,360 hours focused on health, safety, and environmental protocols. Impressively, the project achieved a zero Lost Time Injury record during its launch phase.
Ashly Alex, CEO of Tajmee’e, asserted that the system is engineered for sustained high performance even amidst expansion. He underscored that the operational structure ensures complete oversight, control, and rapid responsiveness throughout the network, achieving consistent service standards.
With this enhancement, Tajmee’e now caters to 29 districts across northern Abu Dhabi, with prospects for further growth as Tadweer develops a comprehensive, emirate-wide waste management solution.
This expansion is pivotal in reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s circular economy. As the initial link in the waste management continuum, efficient collection fosters recycling, processing, and energy production throughout the emirate.
