A recent initiative to establish Quang Ninh city in Vietnam has garnered substantial backing from local residents, as revealed by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

Following national directives aimed at administrative restructuring and development, the authorities initiated a public consultation process to gauge support for the city's formation based on current provincial boundaries.

Local administrations across various districts held extensive public consultations, sharing project details online and at community hubs, cultural centers, and public offices. Additionally, numerous teams were deployed to collect feedback directly from the public.

To ensure transparency, the province established 2,563 consultation teams with over 10,000 members dedicated to facilitating an open dialogue for all residents regarding the city's proposed creation.

The consultation drew participation from 385,597 households, reflecting an impressive 99.44 percent involvement rate. Of these, 385,440 households voiced their support for the proposal, translating to an approval rate of 99.96 percent.

Notably, areas like Bai Chay, Ha Long, and Tuan Chau reported a full agreement rate, while Ky Thuong commune showed a commendable 99.49 percent support despite being the lowest.

A mere 154 households opposed the initiative, representing only 0.04 percent of all valid responses. Provincial leaders indicated that these results highlight significant public confidence in Quang Ninh's development trajectory and urban planning visions.

The overwhelming endorsement reflects community optimism towards the province's economic growth and ambition to evolve into a significant urban hub in Vietnam.
