His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has revealed plans for a new residential area in Jabal Al Ashkel, located near the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled.
During a phone call on the Direct Line programme, His Highness detailed that the new establishment, named Al Ashkel Neighbourhood, will feature hundreds of homes catering to UAE citizens.
He confirmed that the region will have fully paved roads connecting to Al Rafisah. Unlike typical sea-facing residences, houses in this mountainous area are set to have unique architectural designs.
Addressing concerns from Khorfakkan residents regarding housing plots in Al Harray being depleted, the Ruler assured that sufficient residential land is still available.
Currently, 270 homes are in various stages of construction, divided into two phases. This includes 120 homes in Al Mudeife, where land plots have been assigned to the Department of Housing.
Furthermore, he mentioned that additional plots in Al Harray, previously designated for commercial licence holders, have now been reassigned to the municipality, with construction expected to commence within two years.
Similar housing initiatives are also underway in Kalba along the ring road, starting from Al Ghayl and progressing through Al Saaf and Al Tareef. Construction in the Al Dahiyat residential neighbourhood has already commenced, adhering to the established guidelines.
