The much-anticipated trailer for Dhurandhar, signaling Ranveer Singh's electrifying return to cinemas, was unveiled by the production team at a Mumbai event on Tuesday. This dark, action-packed spy thriller draws immediate attention with its gripping visuals and Ranveer's remarkable transformation, reminiscent of his iconic Alauddin Khilji character.
Opening with a harrowing torture sequence, the trailer introduces Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, nicknamed the “Angel of Death,” whose philosophy champions the unsettling idea of “bleeding India with a thousand cuts.” His character sets the tone for the film’s conflict-driven narrative.
R Madhavan portrays Sanyal, the Indian intelligence operative with traits reminiscent of real-world security analysts. Faced with escalating cross-border dangers, Sanyal opts for deep infiltration as the sole effective strategy. Akshaye Khanna arrives as the unpredictable outlaw Rehman Dakait, offering a mix of flair and threat in each scene. Sunny Deol as SP Chaudhary Aslam intensifies the unfolding chaos, rounding out a formidable group of adversaries.
In a commanding presence, Ranveer Singh emerges as the main force, embodying a relentless and lethal operative poised to surpass the enemies' viciousness. His proclamation about retaliating with greater explosive force sets the tone for the film’s high-stakes narrative. A montage of action sequences, gunfires, and explosive confrontations follows, promising a thrilling spectacle.
Originally set to launch earlier, the trailer's release was delayed due to the Delhi blast and in respect for the health of veteran actor Dharmendra. Despite the wait, fans have deemed it worthwhile, applauding Ranveer's intense portrayal and commanding presence, along with the impressive ensemble cast that features a mix of veteran talents.
Earlier today, Ranveer unveiled his character poster, branding himself as the “wrath of God,” further escalating excitement for the film. Directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also involved, the film includes a stellar cast featuring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.
Dhurandhar is set to hit theaters on December 5.
