Veteran actor and former physician Rajashekar has resumed filming after a pause related to his health. The 63-year-old sustained a significant ankle injury while performing in an action scene for an upcoming film in Medchal, Hyderabad. On November 25, he suffered multiple fractures alongside a bimalleolar dislocation, which led to a complex condition from intense trauma. Prompt medical attention was critical, as he was rushed to the hospital, where doctors advised immediate surgery to prevent further complications.
The actor underwent a rigorous three-hour surgical procedure, which involved open reduction and internal fixation using K-wires, screws, and a semi-tubular plate for ankle stabilization. Additionally, a trans-fixation of the tibia was executed with a wire threaded through the calcaneum and talus. Post-surgery, Rajashekar is experiencing considerable discomfort and has been instructed to keep his leg immobile for a duration of three to four weeks. Consequently, all filming activities have been delayed until January 2026, depending on his recovery speed.
Interestingly, this isn't Rajashekar’s first encounter with a severe leg injury; he had a similar issue while filming Magaadu back in November 1989. Despite this setback, he is focused on healing before re-engaging with work commitments.
Rajashekar was last seen in the 2023 release Extra Ordinary Man, directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, alongside Nithiin and Sreeleela. He is currently working on Biker with Sharwanand, originally slated for a December 11 release. Additionally, he has two upcoming movies yet to be revealed. As of now, his wife Jeevitha and daughters Shivani and Shivathmika have not made any public statements on his health.
Fans are eagerly awaiting his swift recovery and safe return to the screen, as he remains a cherished talent in Telugu cinema. His experience underscores the inherent risks actors contend with and emphasizes the necessity of proper recovery following significant injuries.
