Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has highlighted Malaysia's unwavering dedication to justice, peace, and human dignity, which remain foundational elements of its foreign policy, reinforcing the nation's pledge to principled international engagement.
During a public lecture themed “Power Shifts: Strategic Choices for Malaysia and Turkiye,” Anwar expressed Malaysia's readiness and openness to support multilateral efforts aimed at resolving global conflicts, including engaging in UN-led international peacekeeping missions.
However, he emphasized that Malaysia's involvement will respect international cooperation and regional dynamics, clarifying that the country does not intend to interfere with the roles of neighboring nations or key global actors directly involved in conflict resolution.
“We are prepared to assist wherever help is needed. Our approach is grounded in collaboration, diplomacy, and mutual respect”, Anwar stated, underlining Malaysia's commitment to contribute positively to global humanitarian issues.
The Prime Minister further noted that Malaysia's humanitarian focus transcends individual crises. While recognizing the ongoing situation in Gaza, he also expressed deep concern for the Rohingya community in Myanmar and vulnerable populations across Southeast Asia, including in Cambodia and Thailand.
He assured that Malaysia will continue to actively engage within its capacity to promote peace and humanitarian initiatives, collaborating with regional partners and international institutions to tackle complex and sensitive matters.
Anwar reaffirmed that Malaysia’s foreign policy is anchored in universal principles, emphasizing the nation’s belief in justice, peace, and the inherent dignity afforded to all individuals, regardless of their geographic or political context.
He concluded by stating that Malaysia’s commitment embodies its broader role in the global community, aiming to foster stability, humanitarian values, and constructive dialogue in a world that is increasingly interconnected.
