Olympus Unveils New Training Centre in Dubai Science Park

Olympus, a prominent name in MedTech, has inaugurated its latest Service Training Centre for the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) at Dubai Science Park, a part of TECOM Group PJSC. This AED3.7 million (US$1 million) initiative is designed to assist Olympus' partners spanning over 33 countries throughout the META region. The company's international hubs across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific provide essential training and technical support to clients globally.

Dignitaries present at the launch included Jun Imanishi, Consul-General of Japan in Dubai; Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior VP of Dubai Science Park; Ronald Boueri, Vice President and Managing Director of Olympus META; and Dr. Zeyad Al Moosa, Managing Director of GulfDrug LLC, along with other esteemed officials.

The centre will facilitate hands-on training, live demonstrations, and workshops focusing on Olympus' medical and surgical devices. Furthermore, it houses a cutting-edge service and repair workshop alongside a spare-parts warehouse, optimizing supply chain processes and catering to hospitals and businesses in the region.

Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi emphasized that having a physical presence is crucial for sustainable development in the area, asserting that Olympus' new facility reflects its long-term dedication to the region while enabling rapid adaptation to changing market demands. Ronald Boueri stated that the hub enhances Olympus' capacity to provide outstanding service, technical skills, and practical training to partners in META, utilizing Dubai Science Park’s infrastructure and its extensive network of businesses and healthcare experts.

The establishment comprises two fully equipped training rooms, which can train up to 150 engineers from partner organizations in META, aimed at enhancing their technical expertise and service levels. Dubai Science Park is home to over 6,500 professionals in life sciences, energy, and environmental sectors, fostering a rich environment for collaboration, innovation, and growth.

With the launch of this new META Service Training Centre, Olympus is set to boost regional capabilities, improve service quality, and provide essential training for engineers and healthcare providers, reinforcing Dubai's status as a pivotal operational hub in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa.
