Mithoon Revives Sandese Aate Hai in Border 2 with Stellar Cast

With the much-anticipated release of Border 2, the focus shifts to its music, particularly the revamped classic Sandese Aate Hai. Renowned composer Mithoon is at the helm of this reinvention, assembling an impressive cast including Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vishal Mishra.

The new rendition, named Sandese Aate Hai 2.0, will showcase over 100 supporting vocalists and has been crafted over a year. In excess of 500 professionals, including orchestral musicians, arrangers, and sound technicians, contributed to this deeply layered and emotionally charged track. The lead singers dedicated six months at Yash Raj Studios, fine-tuning vocal harmonies and orchestral elements.

Investments for the song’s rights reached around ₹10 crore, emphasizing a commitment to preserving the original's emotional depth rather than using superficial enhancements. Approval was also granted by the original composer, Anu Malik.

The forthcoming video will feature a grand open-air backdrop, presenting Sunny Deol (with vocals by Arijit Singh), Varun Dhawan (Vishal Mishra), Ahan Shetty (Sonu Nigam), and Diljit Dosanjh (as himself).

Originally composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Javed Akhtar for JP Dutta’s 1997 film, the song Sandese Aate Hai has gained status as a patriotic anthem and stands as one of Bollywood’s timeless classics. Mithoon’s expertise shines through as he previously brought back Udd Ja Kale Kawa for Gadar 2, showcasing his ability to reconnect iconic music with today's listeners.

Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta, features a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, and Paramvir Cheema. The film is set for release on January 22, strategically timed for Republic Day weekend.
