Kalyani Priyadarshan, who starred in Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, expressed her admiration for Dulquer Salmaan’s portrayal in his new movie, Kaantha. Taking to social media, she shared that it stands out as her favorite performance from him so far.
Kalyani remarked how she entered the film with little knowledge but was deeply affected afterwards. “This might always be my favourite @dqsalmaan performance… Went in knowing almost nothing and came out moved. I get extra excited when Dulquer speaks Tamil on the big screen,” she noted.
She extended her praise to co-stars Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Rana Daggubati: “@thondankani sir, I expected to cheer only for DQ’s lines, but yours were equally captivating! @bhagyashriborse…my eyes are instantly drawn to you on screen regardless of others present. And @ranadaggubati, it’s always a joy to watch you shine in your element,” she added.
Kalyani also recognized director Selvaraj Selvamani and music composer Jakes Bejoy, complimenting the casting and congratulating the entire team.
Kaantha, directed by Selvamani and produced by Dulquer and Rana under Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media, revolves around superstar TK Mahadevan (played by Dulquer) encountering conflicts with his former mentor Ayya (played by Samuthirakani). Bhagyashri portrays the aspirant star Kumari, while Rana assumes the role of police inspector Phoenix. Released on November 14, the film garnered ₹4.30 crore in India and ₹10.5 crore globally.
