Jaya Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman Pay Tribute at Kamini Kaushal’s Memorial

The film fraternity in Mumbai came together to celebrate the life of veteran actor Kamini Kaushal, who passed away at the age of 98. During a poignant prayer meet, numerous industry figures gathered to honor her remarkable contributions to cinema. Footage circulating on social media featured Jaya Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman attending the memorial.

Jaya Bachchan was among the first attendees, clad in white and warmly greeting fellow veterans. Shortly after, Waheeda Rehman arrived in a simple saree, and moments captured on camera showcased the touching exchanges between the two legendary actresses. Actor Raza Murad also made an appearance. The ambiance of the hall was respectful, devoid of grand decorations or formal addresses, as attendees quietly contemplated Kamini Kaushal’s impactful legacy in the film industry.

Kamini Kaushal passed away on November 14 in Mumbai. Her last rites were performed at the Worli crematorium on Saturday among close relatives.

Numerous celebrities expressed their sorrow through social media, with heartfelt tributes from actors like Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Amitabh Bachchan, and Anupam Kher, reflecting on her work in films like Kabir Singh and Laal Singh Chaddha.

Debuting in Chetan Anand's Neecha Nagar (1946), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, Kamini Kaushal graced the silver screen for over seven decades, starring in iconic films like Biraj Bahu, Shaheed, Arzoo, and Ziddi. After the 1990s, she continued to act sporadically, including in recent hits like Chennai Express, Kabir Singh, and Laal Singh Chaddha.
