Utilizing Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen AI model, the collar conveniently attaches to a pet’s leash. The technology boasts of being lightweight while integrating microphones and motion sensors, analyzing a pet’s emotional cues in real time. The company claims its AI can quickly produce human-like phrases within a mere 1.2 seconds.

According to PettiChat, the system was developed with extensive training on millions of pet sound recordings and vast behavioral data sets. It can recognize emotions like happiness, sadness, annoyance, and love. During tests, translated phrases included “Play with me,” “Give me space,” and “This isn’t for me.”

The startup envisions the device as not only a fun gadget but a tool for owners to comprehend their pets’ emotional states better, particularly aiding busy people who are away from home for extended periods.

The introduction of this product has stirred mixed reactions, with some skeptics raising concerns about the authenticity of its demonstrations, hinting that the translated phrases might have been artificially added.
