Abu Dhabi Allocates AED 1.54 Billion for Housing Assistance to Emiratis

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, following directives from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sanctioned a substantial housing assistance package valued at AED 1.54 billion for citizens residing in Abu Dhabi.

This initiative aims to assist 1,074 Emirati individuals across the emirate.

According to the details shared, the aid comprises housing loans totaling AED 1.41 billion earmarked for 929 citizens, alongside exemptions on repayments amounting to AED 123 million intended to benefit 145 senior citizens, lower-income retirees, and families of those who have passed away.

This housing support has been announced in proximity to Eid Al Adha, showcasing the leadership’s dedication to fostering family stability and enhancing social welfare by ensuring adequate housing solutions for the population.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, indicated that this initiative reaffirms the leadership’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the needs of citizens. It equally contributes to social stability and guarantees dignified living conditions for Emirati households.

Furthermore, Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, noted that the program not only strengthens family wellbeing but also aligns with the UAE’s broader development objectives. He affirmed the authority’s dedication to enhancing housing services, making them more accessible and efficient for citizens.

With this recent approval, total housing benefits issued in Abu Dhabi since 2026 have now reached AED 5.76 billion. Since the formation of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the cumulative housing support has surpassed 133,000 initiatives, totaling more than AED 182 billion.

This housing package underscores the steadfast commitment of UAE leadership to ensure stable housing and uplift the quality of life for its citizens throughout Abu Dhabi.
