Celebrated Odia playback artist Humane Sagar died at age 34 on November 17 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The news of his sudden passing shocked many across Odisha and the wider music community.

After the announcement, Humane Sagar's last Instagram post, shared on November 7 from a radio studio where he performed his song “Bhagya Rekha,” went viral. Fans filled the comments with messages like “RIP” and “You will be missed,” cherishing this recording of the beloved artist's final moments on stage.

Health Challenges Before His Death

Humane Sagar was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on October 14. His health varied at first but then deteriorated. He was treated for several critical conditions, including bilateral pneumonia, acute-on-chronic liver failure, and severe respiratory failure. Despite intensive care, he succumbed to multi-organ dysfunction at 9:08 PM on November 17.

In the aftermath of his passing, fans have been revisiting Humane Sagar’s November 7 Instagram reel. Many expressed their shock and sorrow by leaving prayers and fond memories of his decade-long journey in Odia music. Posts often remarked how he was “taken from us too soon.”

Just two days before his passing, Odisha's Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared his worries on social media, stating, “I’m saddened to hear that singer Human Sagar has been hospitalized. Sending prayers for his swift recovery… Get well, Human Sagar.”

Musical Career Highlights

Humane Sagar debuted in the music industry with the title track of “Ishq Hi Tu,” composed by Abhijit Majumdar. He soon amassed an impressive portfolio of beloved songs, such as “Tuma Otha Tale” and “Chehera.” He even made his foray into Hindi music with the album “Mera Yeh Jahan.”
