The Family Care Authority (FCA) in Abu Dhabi has announced the opening of a new Family Care Centre and Halfway Homes in the Al Dhafra Region, aimed at broadening the reach of social and rehabilitation services within the emirate.

This initiative is designed to enhance accessibility to social and psychological support, thereby strengthening family unity and overall community well-being in the area.

The project aligns with the National Family Growth Agenda 2031 and coincides with the UAE Year of Family 2026, proclaimed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Key figures present at the opening included His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region; and Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director General of the FCA.

Attendees also comprised officials from Abu Dhabi Police, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Al Dhafra Hospital, Mubadala, and ADNOC Group.

Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi expressed that the new facilities signify the FCA's dedication to providing essential services to families throughout Abu Dhabi, with a focus on more remote areas like Al Dhafra.

She emphasized that this expansion seeks to bolster family ties and ensure every member of a family gains access to the necessary support, care, and resources for a promising future.

The Service Centre will offer comprehensive family and social services managed by the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, which includes counselling, guidance, support services, empowerment programs, awareness initiatives, and supervised visitation services.

Meanwhile, the Halfway Homes initiative fits within FCA’s Integrated Care Model, targeting rehabilitation and reintegration by providing a safe environment for individuals recovering from addiction. It aims to facilitate their transition from treatment to independent living and successful re-entry into society.

With these new developments, the Family Care Authority aspires to foster social stability, reinforce family resilience, and improve the mental well-being of Al Dhafra’s residents.
