Vietnam and Japan Enhance Training Collaborations

Vietnam and Japan are actively enhancing their collaboration in developing human resources, focusing on empowering grassroots officials and refining governance standards. This initiative underscores a shared commitment to long-term institutional growth and global cooperation in public administration.

During a significant meeting at the Government Headquarters in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra engaged with Honna Hitoshi, Chairman and CEO of Erex Group. Their discussions centered around assessing current collaborations and identifying avenues to broaden training efforts between the two nations.

The Vietnamese leader commended the joint training initiative launched by the Ministry of Interior and Erex Group since 2022. This program has been pivotal in enhancing public administration skills, especially for young civil servants, grassroots officials, and female leaders, facilitating their adaptation to contemporary governance challenges.

To date, nearly 300 Vietnamese officials have participated in training sessions in Japan, gaining invaluable international experience and practical insights. The initiative has proven effective, with approximately 60 percent of trained young officials advancing to higher roles, showcasing the program’s impact and relevance.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra reiterated the importance of cultivating a skilled workforce as a priority for the Vietnamese government. She pointed out that international cooperation such as this enhances administrative efficiency and contributes to molding a modern governance framework that addresses the fast-changing global landscape.

In response, Honna Hitoshi recognized Vietnam’s recent strides in reinforcing its leadership and governance structure for the 2026–2031 period. He reaffirmed Erex Group’s commitment to bolstering its cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in human resource development, which he termed essential for sustainable progress.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing positive sentiments regarding the future of Vietnam-Japan collaboration. They acknowledged that ongoing training and capacity-building endeavors would be crucial for supporting Vietnam’s socio-economic advancement and fortifying bilateral relations between the two countries.
