In a monumental achievement, Dubai Duty Free has recorded its most successful month in 42 years, with November 2025 sales reaching AED876.56 million (US$240.16 million). This milestone marks a remarkable 16.77% increase compared to the same month last year, breaking the previous record of monthly sales set in December 2024. The average daily sales peaked at AED29.21 million (US$8 million), solidifying it as the retailer’s most prosperous month ever.
Throughout the month, sales consistently demonstrated growth, with figures on 29th November alone hitting AED37.55 million (US$10.28 million)—the highest single-day sales this year. By mid-November, Dubai Duty Free had already surpassed the US$2 billion mark in year-to-date revenues, a first in its four-decade history. Current YTD sales total AED7.75 billion (US$2.13 billion), reflecting a 9.57% increase compared to the same time last year, outpacing projected passenger growth by about 10%.
Sales trends highlighted energetic activity across varying spending levels. Transactions below AED500 showed growth in both volume and value, accounting for a quarter of total sales, while purchases exceeding AED500 made up the remaining 75%, aided by an increase in both the number of transactions and their total contributions.
Leading the sales charge, perfumes generated AED160.58 million (US$44 million), boosted by exclusive fragrance launches. Liquor and Gold also reported steady increases, while tobacco sales benefitted from rising demand for heat-not-burn products.
Confectionery had one of the most significant increases, soaring 42.93% to an all-time high of AED83.29 million (US$22.82 million). The popular “Dubai Chocolate” range was instrumental, contributing nearly 43% of the category's revenue. Notably, the Patchi Pistachio Kunafa Bar—exclusive to Dubai Duty Free—saw over 223,000 pieces sold in November.
Electronics also excelled, with iPhone 17 sales reaching AED26.73 million (US$7.32 million) and over 5,200 units sold.
Luxury Fashion remained among the fastest-growing categories, increasing by 40.32% for the month. The new boutiques of Louis Vuitton and Cartier in Concourse A provided fresh vigor, while established luxury retailers in Concourse B continued to thrive.
Sales performance across terminals was robust. Concourse A saw nearly a 38% rise, Arrivals grew by 14%, and departures from Al Maktoum International Airport soared close to 47%. Travelers heading to Europe, Russia, Africa, and the Americas were the top spenders, with average purchases exceeding AED800.
On an operational level, November 30 was noteworthy, as Dubai Duty Free processed a record 1,057 pallets in a single day, containing 12,000 different items—totaling over 650,000 pieces of merchandise—to meet the heightened demand during the National Day holiday.
With the festive season approaching, preparations are underway for another surge in travel, alongside the upcoming 42nd anniversary celebrations on December 20, featuring special promotions and discounts across all terminals.
