Dubai Chambers has initiated a significant series of discussions in Ethiopia aimed at bolstering trade and investment connections between Dubai and one of Africa's most rapidly advancing economies. These meetings took place in Addis Ababa as part of a trade mission directed towards Ethiopia and Ghana, with the goal of enabling Dubai-based businesses to tap into promising African market opportunities.
Leading the delegation was Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. The team engaged with Ethiopian governmental representatives, investment authorities, and notable business figures to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration in trading, industry, and investments.
A significant conversation occurred with Ethiopia’s Industry Minister, Melaku Alebel, focusing on industrial collaboration, boosting trade exchanges, and fostering partnerships between businesses in Dubai and Ethiopia. The discussions sought to unveil new business opportunities, benefitting both economies’ private sectors.
Furthermore, Dubai Chambers met with officials from the Ethiopian Investment Commission. Their dialogues underscored Ethiopia’s potential as an investment destination while strategizing on making the market more appealing to international investors. Their focus was on developing a supportive atmosphere for companies aiming to grow their operational footprint and investment activities.
The delegation also held talks with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Africa’s foremost sovereign wealth fund. These discussions revolved around possible long-term partnerships and joint investment ventures across diverse sectors, identifying areas where collaboration could stimulate economic growth and yield mutual benefits.
Dubai Chambers articulated that this visit symbolizes the strengthening economic ties between Dubai and various African nations.
