Dubai is expanding its economic relationships with Serbia as it hosted a prominent roundtable where business leaders and officials came together to identify new trade and investment opportunities. The event, held at the headquarters of the Dubai Chambers, featured key figures including Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Stevan Nikčević, State Secretary from Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade; and Vladimir Marić, Serbia’s Ambassador to the UAE.
During the discussions, participants highlighted prospects in various sectors, such as construction, energy, IT, agri-food, healthcare, fintech, industrial automation, and transportation. Both parties focused on strategies to increase bilateral trade, promote joint ventures, and establish sustainable opportunities for the business communities in both Dubai and Serbia.
The attractiveness of Dubai for Serbian investors is apparent: 83 new Serbian companies became members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce within the first nine months of 2024, raising the total to 293 active Serbian businesses. Additionally, non-oil trade between the two nations surged by 44 percent year-on-year, amounting to around AED336 million.
Industry experts observe that these trends reflect a larger movement of Dubai establishing itself as a global investment hub, attracting companies from various markets while nurturing mutually beneficial international alliances.
